A Celebration of Hispanic Arts & Heritage

The 24th Annual Old Town Fiesta will take place in the heart of Old Town on San Diego Avenue and in the Historic State Park. This free family event is the West Coast’s premier celebration of Hispanic arts and culture featuring music, food, handcrafts and Southern California’s only reenactment of the 1862 Battle of Puebla.
Featured venues at the event include:
- Old Town Mercado
San Diego Avenue is transformed into a traditional, colorful Mercado featuring traditional music, regional cuisine and cultural and historical exhibits. A major attraction within the Mercado this year is the Margarita Main Stage off Conde and San Diego Avenues featuring mariachi, norteño, cumbia, salsa and contemporary and old-school favorites.
- Seeley Stables Arena
The arena is transformed back to an 1862 battlefield featuring actors in full period uniform and dress reenacting the May 5, 1862 Battle of Puebla. In addition, a female equestrian team will perform in colorful costumes following Mexican cowboy tradition with spectacular formation riding.
- State Park Plaza
The State Park depicts the true traditions of Hispanic culture through traditional entertainment like ballet folklorico, mariachi and the ever popular El Grito contest. Back by popular demand this year is a ten-piece collaborative known for their explosive sound. Families can stroll and picnic in the park all day.
- Pueblo de los Niños on Harney Street
Visit the children’s area for a variety of hands-on of activities and fun for the whole family.
- Low-Rider Lane Car Show
Magic 92.5 FM with well-known disc jockey Xavier the X-man will be showing more than 35 classic low-rider cars on both Saturday and Sunday from local car clubs. The car show will take place on San Diego Avenue between Conde and Ampudia.
